The Work I Do

For the past five and a half years, Martin Green has served as the Chief of National Expansion & Impact at the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL). During this time, Green led the creation of LiberatED Way powered by AUSL, a community-driven school transformation partner that collaborates with schools and districts in eight cities, impacting over 50,000 students annually. As of November 2024, Green is stepping into a new role at The Mind Trust, where he will lead national expansion efforts. Prior to joining The Mind Trust and AUSL, Green oversaw strategic teaching and learning initiatives at Tulsa Public Schools, including the design and implementation of the Tulsa Way for Teaching & Learning, development of a teacher growth roadmap, enhancement of the novice teacher experience, redesign of report cards to improve academic and social-emotional learning engagement with students and families, and the district’s first learning management system.

Before his work at Tulsa Public Schools, Green was a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, where he led projects across various industries, including higher education. Martin Green holds a degree from the Broad Residency in Urban Education, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and a BA in Comparative Literature from Williams College.

My Connection to the Work of Student Achievement Partners

Martin is a firm believer in the boundless potential that every young person brings and feel a profound responsibility to ensure that educational systems are reshaped to unlock, rather than hinder, this potential. He is excited to join the mission and journey of Student Achievement Partners (SAP) due to SAP’s ongoing commitment to raising the bar for student opportunity across the country.

The Perspective I Bring to this Board

Martin hopes to bring a unique mix of skills and perspectives to the SAP Board. He has been fortunate to lead strategic change efforts to improve teaching and learning in Tulsa, consult for Fortune 500 companies at Deloitte, and bring his K-12 education industry and business knowledge to bear in his recent role leading the development and growth of Academy for Urban School Leadership’s national advisory services arm (LiberatED Way), partnering with schools and districts around the country with community-driven whole school transformation. As SAP continues to refine and adapt its model and approach, he looks forward to sharing his evolving learnings and serving as a critical thought partner in support of SAP’s mission.
