What I Work On
I work as a Controller at SAP, where I collaborate with the entire SAP team to handle the annual budget and forecasting process. My responsibilities also include managing the monthly close and annual audit, providing detailed analysis and reporting to project teams, senior directors, and funders, to contribute to strategic financial decision-making. Additionally, I oversee the management of the professional employer organization (PEO) and supervise the Accounting Manager.
Why I Work Here
As an immigrant, multilingual woman of color, I work at Student Achievement Partners because I believe in the organization’s vision to achieve the mission of providing high-quality academic instruction for all students. This will enable them to reach their maximum potential and become examples of hope in their family and community.
My Education and Experience
Before joining Student Achievement Partners, I worked at Sponsors for Educational Opportunities as the Director of Finance & Accounting. In that role, I led a team of six finance and accounting professionals and served as a strategic thought partner to the Vice President of Finance. I'm proud to be the first college graduate in my family and to be part of the fewer than 3% of black and brown Certified Public Accountants across the United States.
More About Me
I am an introvert living in the northwest part of the Bronx. I enjoy quiet afternoon scenic walks where I can admire the natural beauty and architecture of my community. When I am not doing that, I am with my 8-year-old son, Erick, who enjoys learning words in as many languages as he can.
