What I Work On
I am a Designer at Student Achievement Partners, with a focus on math instruction and a passion for designing and facilitating professional learning.
Why I Work Here
From being a middle school math teacher to serving in various district-level roles in curriculum and instructional coaching, I have developed my belief that academic standards are a core component of creating equitable schooling experiences. Through my experience in the classroom, I saw my role in education as one on the team of people who support teachers' work -- as it is extremely multifaceted and one of the most demanding professions I know. The part of my work I find most fulfilling is when I get to partner with educators to design resources and learning experiences that support teachers in ensuring their students thrive academically.
My Education and Experience
Prior to joining Student Achievement Partners, I served as the Math Design Lead at Transcend Education, where I supported partners, such as Achievement First Greenfield and Montessori for All, in designing their math program and managing a team to design standards-aligned assessments and curriculum. Prior to this work, I served in various network leadership roles at Mastery Charter Schools, including coaching teachers and leaders in math curriculum adoption and implementation. Prior to this work, I served as a middle school math teacher in Philadelphia, PA. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Urban Studies and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
More About Me
I live in Philadelphia, PA with my partner and our daughter. Though a transplant from New York City, I never made it back because of Philly's walkability, vibrant communities, and access to affordable delicious food.
