A Quote That Inspires Me
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it” Marian Wright Edelman
What I Work On
In my Project Manager role at Student Achievement Partners, I lead the execution of the design team’s work by creating, tracking and executing project plans, budgets and timelines while ensuring that our work aligns with equitable design principles.
Why I Work Here
Coming from a family of educators, I was raised to appreciate having access to various educational resources and understood early on the effects of inequity in education on underserved communities. I believe education is liberation and working at Student Achievement Partners gives me the opportunity to serve my community effectively. At SAP, I also get to collaborate with talented individuals on our commitment to become an anti-racist multicultural organization.
My Education and Experience
Before joining Student Achievement Partners, I was a project manager in the telecommunications industry for three years. I also worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for five years prior to graduating from the City College of New York with a BA in International Studies. I am a multilingual who is fluent in Bambara, French and English, and currently learning Japanese. My experience as a former English language learner, who went through the English as Second Language program intersects with my experience as an African immigrant living in Brooklyn.
More About Me
I was born in Mali, grew up in Gabon and have been calling Brooklyn home since 2010. I enjoy reading comics and fantasy fiction, and watching anime. I also love painting, cosplaying and traveling.
