About

Katie (she/her/hers) is a Literacy Director at Student Achievement Partners, where she works to support educators in designing literacy instruction that helps prepare students, particularly teenagers, to lead choice-filled lives. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Illinois and a master's in reading science from Mount. St. Joseph University, where she is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in reading science. Her research interests include teacher preparation to teach reading and supporting middle and high school striving readers.

Experience

With experience as a middle and high school teacher and assessment design and developer, Katie believes in the power of words (and English classrooms!) to transform lives. She and her husband spend their time chasing around their three amazing kids.
